COMMEZZADURA, IN THE EARTH OF VAL DI SOLE
The village of Commezzadura is located in the heart of Val di Sole in Trentino and consists of five villages that in the past formed five different municipalities: Almazzago, Deggiano, Mastellina, Mestriago and Piano.
Commezzadura is located within the Adamello Brenta Natural Park and is just a few kilometres from the protected area of the Stelvio National Park. In our territory, the most uncontaminated nature coexists harmoniously with the most modern and comfortable accommodation facilities with an eye for the historical and artistic heritage; a stay in Commezzadura can allow you to meet the needs of body and mind, combining sport with the pleasure of relaxing, in a reality in which the pure air and quiet envelop a wonderful mountain landscape.
On the national road between Mestriago and Piano stands the church dedicated to Sant'Agata, a young woman from Catania, who was martyred under the emperor Decio on 5 February 251. Sant'Agata is the patron saint of the municipality of Commezzadura and is celebrated on 5 February!
The church is surrounded by greenery, in a flat place and is rich in history and art, decorated inside with a cycle of frescoes by Baschenis painters and with three wooden altars of particular value. Outside the church there is the Monument to the Fallen in memory of the fallen soldiers of the two wars and, adjacent to the churchyard, the municipal cemetery.
