PIANO

858 m

The historic center of the village has old buildings, several fountains, views and characteristic traditional home building “le cort”, in the lower part has a bar and a grocery store. The little church of Piano is dedicated to San Giuseppe and overlooks the main square. Among the historical buildings we can mention Casa Podetti “Bernardèi”, that has an important ashlar portal in stone and decorated interior. Piano was the birthplace of Pietro Bernardelli (1803/1868), a well-known jurist and politician of his time.

On the right bank of the river Noce stream lies the industrial area and, further west, the "Giare" area with several families' homes. This area also includes two farms, one of which is newly built.

Piano has one of the few churches dedicated to St. Joseph (about ten in Trentino).
It was built in 1631 and consecrated by the Prince Bishop of Trento, Sigismondo Antonio Thun, in 1672. The high altar, by the artist Vigilio Prati, dates back to 1716. The bell tower, built between 1920 and 1922, is more recent.
