MESTRIAGO

857 m

In the oldest part stands the church dedicated to San Giovanni Battista among buildings that still retain their original rustic shape. In Mestriago you can find the city hall, the primary school, the rectory, the public utility, recreational and sports services, accommodation, shops and bars.

Its central location has favored the development of commercial activities, thanks in part to the construction of the cable car that directly connects it to the Folgarida-Marilleva-Madonna di Campiglio - Val Rendena ski area. The hamlet of Mestriago also includes the town of Daolasa, located on the right bank of the Noce River.

On the right, the bell of the small church of Mestriago.

In the village of Mestriago stands the church of San Giovanni Battista, built between 1610 and 1617 thanks to a bequest. Inside, originally built in the late Renaissance style, there are mural paintings dating back to around 1930, when the church was largely renovated. The Via Crucis, an eighteenth-century work by painters from nearby Mezzana, remained in the building until the first half of the twentieth century, when it was moved to the church of Piano where it still remains today.
