DEGGIANO

928 m

It is made up of a nucleus of ancient houses and cottages with a splendid view of the Brenta Group. At the beginning of the village there is the church of the Santissima Trinità with a cemetery and a monument to the fallen of the two wars.

Further up the mountain is one of the most characteristic areas of Commezzadura called “Masi da Mont"; where there are ancient farms used in the past as a summer site for the collection of fodder. On the municipal road that reaches the village there are the small villages of Vernago and Rovina, where a new farm has been built with cutting-edge technology.

The church of Deggiano dates back to 1580 and is dedicated to the Holy Trinity, like six other churches in Trentino. The interior is simple and essential, characterized by Baroque architecture, which retains some recently restored 18th-century paintings. On the high altar, richly carved and decorated, is the altarpiece dedicated to the Trinity, while devotional statues of the Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph replace the altarpieces on the side altars. The bell tower, dating back to the Neoclassical period, was built in the early 17th century.
